Chronic prostatitis
The most common but least understood form of prostatitisProstatitis is an inflammation or infection of the prostate common for men under the age of 50. It can be a temporary (acute) or long-lasting (chronic) condition. Symptoms include urinary frequency, burning or painful urination, lower-back pain or pain in the genital area, and a decreased desire for sex. Sometimes it is caused by a bacterial infection, but in the great majority of the cases the cause is not understood.. It may be found in men of any age. Its symptoms go away and then return without warning. The condition is defined principally as pain in a man's pelvic region that persists for at least 3 months. This primary symptom is often accompanied by voiding difficulties and effects on sexual function, usually pain related to ejaculation. Also known as chronic pelvic pain syndrome.
